CTSI Logistics Palau rendered vessel handling services from July 20 to 27 to the British Royal Navy represented by HMS Tamar, its off-shore patrol vessel. This is for the Pacific Partnership 2022 that was conducted in the Indo-Pacific.
On its 17th year, the Pacific Partnership is known as the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission. This year, for the first time, the United Kingdom joined Palau, Australia, Japan, and the United States in conducting humanitarian projects and activities.
Along with HMS Tamar, a 1,000-bed US Navy hospital ship named USNS Mercy was also part of the event to provide medical services and medical expert information exchanges. Japan’s Maritime Self-defense Force destroyer Kirisame and its 180 crew members were also deployed to Malakal harbor to conduct goodwill exercises with Palau such as friendly softball games, music, and judo.
140 personnel from the ship participated in the community activities and enjoyed the experience while on island.
According to U.S. Ambassador to Palau John Hennessey-Niland, “(The) Pacific Partnership reflects our deep commitment to the people of Palau and the region. We welcome the opportunity to work and learn from one another as we continue to work for a Free and Open Indo-Pacific.”
CTSI Palau is proud to have contributed to this momentous and purposeful gathering.
