AS A TRIBUTE to its partners in business and in the community, CTSI Logistics held its annual Customer Appreciation Night (CAN) last October 19, 2005 on Saipan at the Dai-ichi Hotel Saipan Beach.
Following a carnival-inspired theme entitled “The Magic of Partnership,” the event was a huge success as it received almost 200 guests. The CAN paid tribute not only to CTSI Logistics, MELL and FedEx’s valued partners in business but in the community as well since proceeds from the night’s tickets sales plus donations from CTSI Logistics and the Tan Holdings Foundation amounting to $1,500 were donated to MINA (Mariana Islands Nature Alliance). The latter is a non-profit group whose mission is to protect and restore the CNMI’s natural biodiversity and natural heritage.
The CAN saw many luminaries such as Hon. Judge David Wiseman, former Saipan Lt. Governor and MINA President Jesus Borja, Continental Airlines’ Ivan Quichocho (general manager), Ronnie Aliphios (regional sales manager), Joeten Department Store General Manager Mike Troup, Joeten Wholesale Buyer and Manager Peter Che, Transamerica General Manager Steve Lim, Xerox Sales Executive Faithe Wiseman, Credence General Manager and owner Boy Ching and Monika’s Gallery General Manager and Owner Monika Nugent and much more.
Also in attendance were CTSI Logistics’ CEO Jerry Tan, VP George Chiu, Saipan Station President Frank Camacho, CORPLAN Director Sam Capati, Saipan Station GM Rene Magalong and a host of other executives. Representing MELL was Desmond Au and for FedEx, Sales Executive (Guam, Saipan & Okinawa) Babe Pockalny and District Sales Manager (West Japan, Guam & Saipan) Yoji Ogawa attended on behalf of their company.
The CAN featured a variety of games, performances and raffles that entertained its guests. The performances that highlighted the event were the Tai-ji (a Chinese Martial art) exhibition from Master Kevin Wang, who showed grace and proficiency in every move; and the magic show by the world-renowned Nabil Murday, who entertained guests with his excellent showmanship.
The raffles proved to be a time-tested crowd-thriller which came in four parts, the last one being the grand prize of a two-night stay at Dai-ichi Hotel Saipan Beach and a roundtrip ticket around Micronesia courtesy of Continental Airlines.
The night was also colored by inspiring words from Camacho who made the opening remarks. Camacho quoted bestselling author Peter Drucker that "The single most important thing to remember about any enterprise is that there are no results inside its walls. The result of a business is a satisfied customer."
Another moment that was just as important was when CEO Jerry Tan presented the check donation to a host of MINA representatives led by President Jesus Borja who gave a speech thanking all the people who contributed and stressed the importance of preserving the Mariana Islands’ environment.
Capping off the night’s festivities was Magalong who went up onstage to give the closing remarks saying that because CTSI, MELL and FedEx compliment each other, they have grown favorably in the recent years and are able to offer quality service to its clients. With him onstage during his speech were MELL’s Desmond Au, Jimenez and Camacho.
Afterwards, guests immediately gave their praises to an event they have found both entertaining and refreshing. Joven Cruz, Saipan Station’s Sales manager, professed that many customers gave feedback that the CAN this year was “very good.” Bingoy Gonzales, Corporate Affairs Public Relations manager, also shared that there were clients who emailed later on, asking “how did you manage to organize such a successful event?”
Certainly, a great deal of preparation goes into putting together a Customer Appreciation Night but Cruz managed to sum it all up when he said that “it was the teamwork between everyone that made the big difference.” |
