| LAST August 1, 2005, ISS (Inchape Shipping Services) Guam appointed the Palau Station as their new vessel agent. Through this new partnership, the station is currently handling the Golden Micronesia tanker vessel for Mobil Oil Micronesia.
Prior to this, ISS enlisted the services of a different company for Mobil Oil. However, thanks to the recommendation of CTSI Guam (who enjoys a fruitful relationship with ISS), the Palau Station was awarded the aforementioned account.
“With this new partnership, CTSI Palau looks forward to providing services that cater not only to tanker vessels but also passenger vessels or cruise lines or any vessel that may wish to come to Palau,” said Palau Station Shipping Department Head Tony Castillo. “Aside from agency services, we also provide the needs of the ship's crews as far as their provisions are concerned. We provide them whatever they practically need while they are in Palau.”
So, how does the Palau Station view the future with ISS? “We have established a very strong partnership with ISS Guam through the help of CTSI Guam,” answered Castillo. “But the expectations are very high. By early next year, there will be more vessels coming in such as cruise lines or passenger ships and now is the perfect time to prepare and familiarize ourselves for bigger task and responsibilities ahead.”
ISS is the world’s largest private marine management services provider, who uses the latest web-based technology and systems to keep clients informed and supported. ISS provides clients with the effective and immediate marine service solutions, ranging from local troubleshooting to a total logistics package. |
