CTSI Logistics USA and China International Freight Company Limited (CIF) signed an International Agency Agreement last July 5, 2006.
The signing marked the strategic alliance between the two companies. The alliance will “enhance CTSI Logistics’ oceanfrieght forwarding services menu which is provided to our current clients and prospective customers especially for oceanfreight movements originating out of Asia,” said Ermie Obien, CTSI Logistics USA director for Global Business Development.
Held at the Luenthai Supply Chain City in Dongguan, Guangdong, China, the signing was hosted by Raymond Tan, CTSI Logistics US vice president and Luen Thai executive director. Also present were Luen Thai Corporate Logistics VP Dennis Chung, CTSI Logistics USA Global Account Manager Johnny Wang, CIF Founder/Chairman Billy Tung and CIF Group of Companies President Carlton Chen.
The alliance is expected to improve CTSI Logistic’ ocean forwarding rate levels thereby improving service to clients, said Obien. For instance, he stated, “Asia will be extremely competitive with contract rates established with 21 steamship line carriers enjoyed by CIF. Service levels and capabilities will also improve with more ports to originate from.”
CTSI Logistics is enthusiastic with the CIF strategic alliance and looks forward to a synergistic relationship that will yield mutual benefit. “Aligning ourselves with CIF is a strategic move and it is with an organization that is experiencing consistent yearly growth,” Obien said. “Coupled with a reinvigorated sales effort globally and our new USA Sales Team ramping up, CTSI Logistics will grow along with CIF as success begets success.”
CIF was established in November 1988 and is now one of the leading consolidators and freight forwarders in Asia. CIF specializes in both ocean and air freight and proceeds to sustainable logistic service. With headquarters located in Taipei, CIF also has branch offices around Asia.
