JULY 2006 – The Philippine International Trading Corporation (PITC) nominated CTSI Logistics Philippines to be its logistics provider.

The Philippine International Trading Corporation (PITC) is a government owned international trading company with over 30 years experience in the export, import and marketing of a wide range of commodities, industrial products and consumer goods. Last 2004, PITC was designated as a key agency in the implementation of the Philippine Presidents’ 10 point legacy, which includes the lowering of the prices of essential medicines by 50% by 2010. This led to the establishment of Botica ng Bayan (The Nation’s Pharmacy). One of the latter’s mission statements is to make quality essential medicines available, accessible and affordable to the greater masses of the Filipino people.

The Philippine Station is handling the distribution of PTIC’s medicines to all Botica ng Bayan and DOH (Department of Health) outlets in the Philippines. The Philippine Station is also providing pick and pack services as well as the labeling of medicines before distribution. CTSI Logistics Philippines is expected to be PITC’s logistics arm in distributing their billion peso projects nationwide. Last July 8, 2006, the first batch of medicines was delivered to the Manila Supply Chain Center.

The Philippine Station is enthusiastic about this new partnership with PITC as it will also provide the opportunity for CTSI Logistics to establish itself as a pharmaceutical distributor in the Philippines.

Present during the contract signing were Philippine Undersecretary and PITC EVP Teddy Rivera, PITC Consultant Joe Cortes, Philippine Station GM Lito Austria, Philippine Station Sales Manager Gerry Inandan, Philippine Station Courier Department Manager Rolly Reyeslao and Philippine Station Senior Sales Executive Zoilo Dela Cruz.
