LAST October 18, 2006, UPS SCS (Supply Chain Solution) and CTSI Logistics Saipan signed the new agency agreement. John Sobredo, UPS SCS general manager for Guam and Saipan, and Rene Magalong, Saipan Station general manager, met on the said date to sign the contract.
Through the new agency agreement, CTSI Logistics will continue handling the Talbots/J. Jill account, which they have been servicing for some years now. Consequently, the agreement will have the Saipan Station eventually servicing the air/ocean inbound shipments of American departments store giant, Sears, by November 15, 2006.
“With the renewed relationship and partnership,” said Magalong, “we look forward to grow our business, not only in securing more garment accounts, but even targeting the military business. UPS is known globally to handle military business contracts and we will partner with UPS to be their logistics arm and bid on Saipan for the Merchant Marine or the Military Pre-Positioned ships.”
Sobredo also expressed similar enthusiasm and appreciation for the partnership, saying that he expects a smooth transition ahead. “I believe this relationship will grow and open opportunities for us both,” added Sobredo. |
