THE ONGOING INFLUX of military personnel and their families on Guam has brought about a big market for commercial household goods, which the Guam Station has been working hard to address and satisfy.
Part of the station’s efforts is sending their Sales Consultant Bob Terry and Marketing Manager Menchu Atalig to the 44th Annual Meeting of the HHGFAA (Household Goods Forwarders Association of America, Inc.) in San Francisco, USA last October 9-12, 2006. Held at the Hilton San Francisco, the event was themed “Golden Opportunities: Prospecting for New Business.” The theme alludes to the historical California Gold Rush, which saw adventurers and entrepreneurs from all over the world forge alliances to pursue their business goals.
For the Annual Meeting, the allusion calls for an alliance of those willing to seek out and recognize fortune once it appears. For CTSI Logistics Guam, this means networking with potential business organizations that will help them address their target market.
With over 3,000 other attendees at the event, Terry and Atalig were able to accomplish just that. “We are positioning ourselves to the military and commercial household goods and this meeting is where the contractors or top agents can be found,” said Atalig.
After the HHGFAA event, Atalig and Terry proceeded to the LA office in Torrance, California to meet with LA team members and discuss operational concerns. |
